Obstetrics is the medical specialty that focuses on the care of women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. Obstetricians are medical doctors who specialise in this field. They are responsible for managing the health of the mother and baby during pregnancy, helping to ensure a healthy pregnancy and delivery.

During pregnancy, obstetricians provide prenatal care, which includes regular check-ups, monitoring the baby's development, and providing counseling on pregnancy-related issues. They may also order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as ultrasounds and blood tests, to assess the health of the mother and baby.

No two pregnancies are the same and we provide individual care with the aim of a positive birth experience, whatever that looks like for you.

At Adelaide Hills O&G we provide comprehensive antenatal, delivery and post natal care with one of our four female specialist Obstetricians. We can care for you during your birth at Mt Barker Hospital, Burnside Hospital or at the Women's and Children's Hospital.  See your GP for a referral and call us to book your first pregnancy appointment.
